Fast - Fresh Food from Fiesta Fresh Mexican Grill

Hilton Head Island, SC

Today’s foodie adventure takes us to a lovely beach town on Hilton Head Island.  We ventured inland a bit to a little Mexican place that touts a whopping 4.5 star review on yelp.com and a 92% approval rate on urbanspoon.  I’d say that’s well worth a visit, right?

It was just after 1:00pm on a Friday afternoon and this place was pretty packed.  The dining room was almost completely full and there was a pretty long line of to-go orders.  This little restaurant has simple décor, super friendly staff, and tasty cheap eats (maybe not really cheap, but very reasonably priced).

We decided to order one of the specials of the day, the Albino Burrito.  It comes with special seasoned pork, rice, beans, and is covered in delicious cheesey sauce.  The hefty burrito, medium drink, and a little pile of chips with a trip to the salsa bar cost a little over $8, a good deal for such a filling meal.  The burrito was stuffed full of tender, juicy pork, and was really filling.  A word of caution to those who are sensitive to salty: the cheese sauce is just a little on the salty side.

Mmm... look at that oooey gooey goodness. =)

The chips were a thick, crispy, and not too greasy - a good compliment to the salsa bar.

The second dish we tried was the Shrimp Fajitas.  For just under $10, you get a plate full of shrimp sautéed with onions and green peppers, a side of rice and refried beans and 4 tortillas.  I opted for the flour but you can also get corn.  The rice was average, nothing amazing but still flavorful and soft.   The beans were also flavorful but just a touch watery.  And now for the shrimp.  Mmm.  You get 8 medium sized shrimp that are well cooked and nicely seasoned.  The flavor was there but could have done with a little bit of a spicy kick.

It looks so pretty in the tortilla doesn't it? :)

Overall, How Nuts Are We about Fiesta Fresh Mexican Grill?
Food: 5 coconuts
Service: 3.5 coconuts (Since it was fast food style there wasn't much to really go off of but everyone was really nice!)
Repeatability: 5 coconuts

Fiesta Fresh was definitely a top Stuffed Foodie experience.  The food was fresh, fast, tasty and is a good value.  I really want to make my way back and try out that breakfast menu that I saw at the end of the counter too...

 Until next time... /人 ⌒ ‿‿ ⌒ 人\
