Harris Teeters and Single Serve Desserts

This week I think it's finally time to properly introduce myself.  My name is Trumpy Marcolini.  I was born on January 17, just three years ago, in a small Krispy Kreme doughnut box.  It was a crisp winter evening and the air smelled of chocolate and glazed doughnuts.  Throughout my years I have traveled the world; a handful of US states, the Bahamas, Brasil and Thailand to name just a few places I have visited.  I have been lucky enough to try the tasty treats of so many wonderful places that I could no longer keep it all to myself.  My friend Petchi and I finally decided to make our place in the world of foodies and share our yummy adventures, tasting and making the wonderful dishes the world has to offer.

Today is I am sharing a little mini adventure from when I last visited Petchiboon in Charlotte, NC.  I went shopping at a local Harris Teeter and passed by a refrigerator filled with goodies I just couldn't resist.  For just $2.99 a piece, (I had coupons!  They are regularly $3.99 each.) I got a single serving dessert of tiramisu and a mascarpone creamy cup for Petchi and me to share.

These fun sized treats come in a reusable glass dishes that make it even more fun to try.  The tiramisu had a nice creamy texture and the flavors were light and delightful.  The coffee flavor was very light and hardly detectable, but it did add enough of a kick.  I did wish that it had more lady fingers; the proportion of fingers to cream wasn't quite right to me.  :)

The mascarpone dessert was another good pick.  It was a lot of fluffy creaminess and a mystery amaretto chocolate syrup mixture at the bottom.  There was also another crunchy layer of chocolate shavings and some kind of crunchy cookie or candy on top.  Be sure to get a little bit of everything in each bite to get the full experience!

These desserts weren't too sweet, had nice textures and flavors, looked really pretty and were definitely affordable versions of restaurant favorites.  They definitely got my two thumbs up! - and Harris Teeter too for having a wide variety of goodies that are just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth without having to make a big mess in the kitchen. :D

Next week we will get to know Petchi a bit better and hear about another stuffed foodie adventure.  Until next time...
